NYFW | Rag & Bone SS14
Sometimes subtle change is better than an all out overhaul. Backstage the designers expressed interest in evolving the Rag & Bone brand into a new set of references. They kept their trademark urban tomboy flair, classic English tailoring, and experimentation with technical materials and instead added a crisper touch to the decidedly filmy, feminine collection. The look is crisp, nineties minimalism in the vein of Helmut Lang and Calvin Klein with a prep touch, think flippy, string-strapped baby doll dresses and slick, perforated blazers, alongside diaphanous iridescent tank dresses under V-neck varsity sweaters. Wainwright and Neville offered their collection in subtle shades of lilac, sea foam, peach, and pink to give the clean-cut, sporty collection a sense of femininity.
