My heart be still.
Last season, the fashion world received word that the great house of Vuitton would be graced with a new leader - Nicolas Ghesquiere, formerly of Balenciaga. For me, it couldn't have been a better match. To me, Ghesquiere's talent is inimitable. At Balenciaga, his willingness to dive into the challenging new territories of textiles and shapes and yet retain the house's aesthetic and allure was without question what kept me captivated. After 16 years with Marc Jacobs at the head of LV - this change is the jolt the label needs to excite its core customers and make several new ones. I've drooled over every single piece in the video above - but the accessories are what stand out and invoke the bloodlust fashion enthusiasts know so well. By all reasonable accounts Vuitton stands to have a VERY profitable season with the new merchandise.
The triptych of new campaigns under Ghesquiere will be shot by the corps d'elite of fashion photography: Annie Leibovitz, Juergen Teller and Bruce Weber, starring Charlotte Gainsbourg. Additionally, the song featured in the video is 'Master's Hands' by Charlotte Gainsbourg.
