In recent seasons the return to minimal dressing has been on the rise. We’ve seen it at both larger houses such as Celine and Jil Sander, through street style and blogs and even in high street markets. But this season two standout collections that we’ve loved have been Rad Hourani’s SS 13 and Theysken’s Theory. Rad’s Unisex line was full of his signature sharp and clear lines with strong shapes. Blazers were tightly fit, pants and shorts tight and tops were peaking out from jacket or in a large oversized firm shape. His colour palette included signature black, white and navy but also slowly evolved into reds and light pinks. Oliver at Theysken’s Theory offered a us a lovely selection of oversized blazers, smart pants and amazing knitwear in dreamy navy, black, earthy green and white. Both of these collections stood out to us because they truly focused on design, not hiding behind colours or gender or print, but focused on the women’s bodies, the shapes of the clothes and the overall look.
